Public Relations
The Davies Murphy Group takes a fundamentally different approach to public relations than other agencies, simply because we were founded by former clients, not “agency people,” and understand what it means to be the client. From this perspective, we have defined our PR services around three core principles:
- The way we view our mission – First and foremost, we treat public relations not as a standalone function, but as an integrated tool in the broader marketing spectrum. And as with all marketing tools, public relations programs must be engineered to generate a desired business result – whether it’s to increase sales, enhance reputation, increase market capitalization or resolve a crisis. “Clips for clips’ sake” is not in the Davies Murphy Group repertoire, because everything we do must contribute to helping our clients achieve their business objectives.
- The composition of our team – The Davies Murphy Group employees average 14 years of experience and most have worked on both the client and agency sides. Our account teams more closely resemble teams of business consultants, rather than typical agency hierarchy with each person filling an operationally finite role. More experience means our people bring far greater resources to an engagement than a typical agency team – more contacts, more strategic knowledge, and better understanding of how to serve clients. This is what enables our teams to deliver consistent, high-impact results, even when the client does not have an abundance of hard news or references.
- The way we engage our clients – The Davies Murphy Group operates on an “all you can eat” PR model. Our clients pay a flat monthly retainer and that’s it – we’re on board to do whatever it takes to make our clients successful. No counting hours, no hidden costs, no bait and switch. We adopted this model because we firmly believe that to be an extension of the client’s team, you cannot be encumbered by artificial barriers like caps on hours or level of effort. All-you-can-eat means our people are free to pursue every avenue to achieving results. And clients are free to engage us as closely as they like – inviting us to sales meetings, product planning sessions and even board meetings – without having to worry about exceeding their monthly allotment of hours.
